March 14th.,l <br />Board met in re-gular session at 10:00 A.I. All members present. <br />Atty. Ferabaugh and Mr. Chas. Platt appeared before the Board for an <br />the Board's opinion on the sub -dividing of a, tract of land between Caroline Street <br />sand Kline Street south of -Lincoln Way East. No action taken by the Board. <br />Petition presented by Joseph Wypiszynski for a light at corner of Napier <br />Street abd Pine Street.. The same was read and .placed on file for investigation. <br />Mr. Chas. Prast and Mr. Geo. Carll appeared before the Board in regard <br />to the platting of the Chas. Prast property on Lincoln Way West. No action taken by <br />the Board. <br />Petition for the paving of Leer Street from Lincoln Way East to Calvert <br />✓ Street received by the Board and placed on file fl r s ixty' days. ( Call up May 15t h. , <br />1916.} <br />The City Civil Engineer submitted the estimated cost of the Gravel roadway <br />and grading of Pokgaon Street from Tecumseh Avenue to the Michigan Central Railroad <br />at 39200.00 <br />Petition for sewer and pavement on West' Indiana Avenue from Kemble Ave. <br />✓ to ,Prairie Avenue, vms received and placed on file. <br />Report received from the Travelers Indemnity Company, Hartford, Conn.in regard to the City Hall boilers. The s£me was read and placed on file. <br />The following waiver was filed with the Board and permission granted. <br />South Bend, Ind. March 2,1916. <br />TO TBE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />South .Bend, Indiana* <br />We, the undersigned, being the only persons owing property on- <br />Washington Street from Sunnyside Avenue to Jacob Street and we only are affected by <br />improvements made on said street.. We do hereby waive all objections and defense <br />to any defect in these proceedings and to any violation in procedure for the improve- <br />ment of streets as fixed by Section 8710 of Burn's Revised Statute of 1914, and <br />request that a permit be issued to a, duly authorized contractor for the grading of the <br />roadway of said Washington Street from Sunnyside Avenue to Jacob Street. The expense <br />of said grading to be borne by E. Louis Kuhns. The work to be done under supervision <br />of the City Engineer. By private contract. <br />Re sp a ct f'til ly, <br />E. Urey, Cemetery Sexton appeared before the Board in regard to <br />having cemetery fence painted. The Board ordered that bids should be received fc r the <br />painting of same at the next re�,uler session of the Board. <br />Mr. D. C. Layton, Street Commissioner reported to the Board the condaltion <br />of the River Bank along the outlet of the Leland Ave-nue sewer. The sayr:e was orete reyd <br />cleaned up. <br />President. <br />
