PUBLIC WORKS AND PROPERTY VACATION COMMITTEE <br />FEBRUARY 27, 2012 <br />Committee Members Present: <br />David Varner, Oliver Davis, Gavin Ferlic, Valerie Schey <br />Citizen Member: Vacant <br />Other Council Present: <br />Tim Scott, Henry Davis, Karen White <br />Others Present: <br />Mike Danch, Kevin Allen, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Gary Gilot, Mike Schmuhl, Pete <br />Kaminski, Kathleen Cekanski- Farrand <br />Agenda: Bill No. 2 -12 — Vacate Alley LaSalle & St. Peter <br />Bill No. 3 -12 — Vacate United Drive (Prairie Avenue) <br />Update — Snow Removal <br />Bill No. 2 -12 — Alley Vacation at LaSalle & St. Peter <br />With a full committee present to conduct business Chairperson Varner called upon Mike <br />Danch to make a presentation. A registered surveyor contracted by the City, Mr. Danch <br />proceeded to describe the requested action. With the help of a diagram (attached) he <br />explained this was the last vacation needed for the new St. Joe High School (SJHS.) <br />Once the right -of -way and the utilities were vacated the City could proceed with <br />consolidation and replat of the SJHS site. <br />The motion to send favorably was made by Councilmember Gavin Ferlic, seconded by <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis and supported by all. <br />Bill No. 3 -12 — Vacation of a part of United Drive a/k/a Prairie Avenue <br />Chairperson Varner noted a request from the petitioner to continue the vacation until the <br />next meeting on March 12 had been received by the Clerk's Office. <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis so moved. Councilmember Schey seconded and all <br />supported a continuance recommendation to full Council. <br />Update on the Cites Approach to Snow Removal <br />
