South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting—February 14, 2012
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
B. Airport Economic Development Area
(1) continued...
Park. Their past services have included the
creation of websites, newsletters, collateral
material, and press releases among others to
promote South Bend's technology initiatives.
The current BWG contact expires on
February 28, 2012. This proposal continues
work on one key initiative—the
SouthBendOn web site and e-newsletter for a
period of three months ending May 31, 2012.
An attachment was provided listing the scope
of services.
Staff requests approval of the contact for
$7,500 per month plus an additional $1,000
to cover additional communication support
over these three months. The fees will be
covered through the Airport Economic
Development Area TIF and will not exceed
$23,500.
Mr. Varner asked whether staff expected the
new administration to continue to contract
with Blue Waters Group long term. Mr. Inks
replied the purpose of this short term contract
is to give the administration time to
determine that.
Mr. Kain pointed out that this carries on
some key aspects of what BWG has been
doing, for a very small amount.
Ms. King asked if BWG was maintaining the
web site or were they doing creative work on
it. Mr. Kain said it is mostly maintenance.
6
