South Bend Redevelopment Commission Regular Meeting—February 14, 2012 7. PROGRESS REPORTS (CONT.) In consultation with the City Controller, our recommendation is that those funds be authorized to be deposited into the EDIT fund of this city, which would give maximum flexibility in terms of how those funds can be used. Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by Mr. Alford COMMISSION AUTHORIZED DEPOSITING THE AJ and unanimously carried, the Commission authorized WRIGHT PENALTY FUNDS TO THE EDIT depositing the AJ Wright penalty funds to the EDIT ACCOUNT,SUBJECT TO RATIFICATION AT THE NEXT REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MEETING account, subject to ratification at the next Redevelopment Commission meeting. Ms. Leonard Inks requested permission to set a public hearing for 4:00 p.m., March 13, 2012, for an additional appropriation for the Blackthorn Golf Club. Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by Mr. Alford THE COMMISSION AUTHORIZED A PUBLIC and unanimously carried, the Commission authorized a HEARING AT 4:00 P.M.,MARCH 13,2012,FOR AN public hearing at 4:00 p.m., March 13, 2012, for an ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR BLACKTHORN AS RESULT OF THE LPGA EVENT SCHEDULED additional appropriation for Blackthorn as result of the FOR FIRST WEEK IN AUGUST. LPGA event scheduled for first week in August. Ms. Leonard also noted that Blackthorn Golf Club will be hosting an LPGA event at its course in August, so there will be increased revenues from that to allocate. The Blackthorn staff expects the event to be revenue neutral, but there will be expenses that need to be paid up front. Staff will have the numbers at the March 13, 2012, meeting. Mr. Varner asked whether they were getting sponsors, to which Ms. Leonard Inks replied that the Four Winds Casino is a major sponsor. Ms. Leonard Inks distributed a list of the vendors that were paid from Redevelopment TIF Funds from July 1, 2011, through December 31, 2011. Mr. Relos noted his conversation with David Matthews 11
