In as much as the specifications state specifically that it req-dleds two inches
at asphaltic concrete and furthermore that we bid on the basis of a two inch surface we
feel that it would be unfair. if we were forced to lay a surface of greater thickness
than called for in the spef is iations as bid,
At `the 'su ggest ion of , your City Engineer Mr. Anderson, we submit the
following for your approval; That are will be reimbursed for all material used over
the required two inches of surface on th'e same basis as our bid. Mr. Anderson has
agreed and has started to cross section the old pavement and has agreed to re8cross
section the fivished. pavement. The difference in these two readings will show the
depth of pavement and will show the amount of extra material used.
We feel this to be fair and will be 'satdfded if his proposition is accepted
We would also be willing for you to pay use on the badds of what is known as " Plant
Yardagef. - Your City reprasentallve Mr. Van Trump shows on hds daily reports the plant
yardage or tebhnically what the daily output of the plant would lay in yardage on the
street if the' depth ware exactly two inches Either proposition would bring the same
result.
We trust you will see the fairness of thas'e pr op os it ions and give them
your careful consideration . Awaiting your decision,. we are,
Very truly yours,
THE WHITE CONSTRUCTION CO.
J . W. DOYLE
Mr. J.-W.
