<br />We -the undersigned, Resident freee-holders, of the City of South
<br />Bend, St. Joseph Count , State of Indiana, and res id ing on College Street, between
<br />Lincoln Way West and Vassar Avenue, would represent and show to your Honorable Board.

<br />Whereas, it was the understanding and belief of the undersigned
<br />that the paving of said Street would not cost More than three and ninety-two hundr*ths
<br />($3•92) dollars per lineal foot.
<br />And Whereas with such understanding and beliefthe undersigned
<br />acquiepceo aAd consented to the c onf irmat ion of the rees.olut ion. of this Board, pree-
<br />viding. for the pavement concerned and the=earard.ing. of, the contract to the Williston
<br />constrmaidan Company for the said paving; it now appears that the said Williston
<br />Construction Company has failed and refused to sign the contra t heretofore awarded
<br />to it by the Board and -it further appears that the cost of the said payment will be
<br />very much more than the, amount above s pee if ied per lineal foot and therefore, the
<br />undersigned petition your Honorable Board and ask tot these proceedings for the
<br />pavement of College Street, between Ling oln Way West to Vassar Avenue be d isc ont inued;
<br />and dismissed.
