<br />Street, by paving the roadway the. same, and
<br />WHEREAS, the City Civil Engineer has prepared and filed in the office of this Board a report showing thenumber and
<br />location of the service pipes, mains, oonduits, laterah, and connections which are, or will be necessary to accorrrf c&,te the
<br />abutting property and the owners thereof with gas, water, sewer, and other conveniences and necessaries: and alto
<br />said- City Givil Engineer has prepared and filed in said office specifications showing the mater:al to be used and
<br />the maner of laying said service pipes mains, conduits, laterals and connections from the mains to the .points in
<br />side the curb lines.
<br />THEREFORE, be it -resolved by the Board of Public Wcrkes of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that
<br />the report of the City Civil Engineer is adcpted, and sa'd report and the specifications prepared and bad by
<br />him are made a part of this resolution as fully and effectually as if copied herein at full length; and it is fur-
<br />ther ordered that all of such private connections with the sewer, gas, and water mains be made in said street
<br />by bringing them inside the curb lines thereof. :
<br />And ' ;be it further resolved that notice by publication for two successive days in South Bend

<br />a newspaper of general circulation. printed and publ shed in the City of South Bend
<br />Indiana, be given to the owners of the property abutting upon * said street to be improved directing them to
<br />make such sewer and water connections on , or before the 15th o day of

<br />192 , and that if said connections are not made on or before said time and in accordance with the speci-
<br />fications and, report on file in the office of the Board of the Public Works, then said Board will cause the same
<br />to be made and will asses the cost thereof against the property abutting cFcn said street,- and- shall do all
<br />other ' things pertaining thereto according to the provisiors and requirments of Ordinance No. 1842 adopted
<br />by the Common Council of the City of South Bend on JLIy 24, 1916, and cf all other crdinances and law
<br />relating thereto.
<br />And, be it further resolved and ordered that after the 20 day period has elapsed for the making cf said
<br />connection by the property owners, a notice shall be published for two weeks, cnce each week, in the
<br />South Bend Tr AM" a newspaper of general circulation publ'shd in said city, requesting
<br />bids from contr etors for
<br />a the making of such connections as have not been ' made by the Property :::owners,
<br />and such. notice shall - fix a day, not earlier than ten days after the first of such publications, when bids shah
<br />be opened and a contract let for the doing of said work.
<br />And be it further ordered that the Northern Indiana Gas and Electric Company, Hhich holds a fran.
<br />chise from, and is enpowere'i by slid city to furnish artificial gas to the citizens thereof, -and is engaged in
<br />said: business is ssil .city, is - h.reSy directed ti mike and install all service connections with its mains in said
<br />Street in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1555 adopted June 27 1910 and- such ether ordi-
<br />panes or laws applicable thereto; Hhich connecticns are shct+n t.Fcn the r(pcat of Ile City Civil Engineer,
<br />and which are hereby declared to . be necessary -in supplying gas to the owner of proper buttIi
