<br />Street, by paving the roadway the same, and
<br />WHEREAS, the City Civil Engineer has prepared and filed in the office of this Board a report showing the number and
<br />location of the service pipes, mains, e3nduits, lateral:, and connections which are, or will be necessary to acccn"frtcei;te
<br />abutting property. and the owners thereof with gas, water, sewe., and other conveniences and reccsszries: and also
<br />said -City Givil Engineer has prepared and filed in said office specifications showing the mater'al to be used and
<br />the maser of Iayia,, said service pips mains, conduits, laterals and connections from the mains to the points in-
<br />side the curb lines.
<br />THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public WcAes of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that
<br />the report of the City Civil Engineer is adopted, and sa'd report ar-d the specif cabers prepared and fled by
<br />him are made a part of this resolution as fully and effectually as if copied herein at full, length; and it is fur-•
<br />ther ordered that all of such private connections with the sewer, gas, and water mains be made in said street
<br />by bringing them inside the curb lines thereof.
<br />And be it further resolved that notice by piblication for two successive days in South Bend
<br />a newspaper of general circulation printed and publ shed in the City of South Bend
<br />_�_�ndiana, be given to the owner of the properly abutting upon said street to be improved directing them to
<br />make such sewer and water ccnne:.tien_s on or before the 1-stb. --- day of TribUEiE►
<br />192 , and that if said connections are not made on or before said tirr,e and in accordance with the speci-
<br />fications and report on file in the office of the Board of the Public WrAs, then said Board shill cause the seme
<br />to be made and will asses the cost thereof against the property abutting upcn said street, and slialldo all
<br />other things pertaining thereto according to the prcvisier.s and requirnenk cf Ordinance No. 1842 adopted
<br />by the Common Council of the City of South Pend on JLly 24, 1916, ar,d cf all cth,r crdirar.ces and law
<br />relating thereto.
<br />And, .be it° further resolved and ordered that after the 20 day Period has elapsed for the making cf said
<br />connection by the property owners, a notice shall be publishA- for two weeks, once each week, in the '-- --
<br />South Bend _' 4 , a newspaper of general circulation publ shd in said city, req_festir•g
<br />.
<br />bids from contractors for the making of such connections as have not been maccse by the property oN%ners,
<br />and such notice shall fix a day, not earlier than ten days after the first of such publications, when bids shais
<br />be opened and a contract let for the doing of said work.
<br />And be it further ordered that the Northern Indiana Gas and Electric Ccirpary, H bich holds a fran-
<br />chise from, and is en»w_-ral by said city t- furnish artificial gas to the citizens thereof, and is engaged in
<br />said br>in ss in sail city, is h�re'ay directed to mike and install all service connections with its in in. said
<br />Street in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1555 adopted June 27 1910 and such ether ordi-
<br />nances or laws applicable thetete; Hhich connections are sL(iAn tpcn the repot of Ile City Civil Engineer,
<br />and which are hereby declared to be necessary in supplying gas to the owner of property abutting upon :aid
<br />street.
