387 <br />Board met in regulAr less ion At 10:00 A.M.All members present. <br />I <br />The matter of permit for the elect ing of A tabernacle on South Main <br />Street for religmnis purposes was taken up with the Board by.W. D..Teeple, Commissioner <br />of Build ings , Del. C .' Leer And Mr. Cochran. The Board granted A temporary .permit <br />t o be grAnted by the Build ing C ommiss ioner and no fee t o be charged f or sere. The <br />Building C ommiss ioner submitted the following copy of permit granted. <br />I <br />3-2-1920. <br />Spec is 1 permission is hereby granted to Del. Leer end to <br />Le 3ses , by consent of the Board of Public Works, on roc ommendat ion of the Building <br />Commissioner, to erect a one-story frame'- Tabernacla 115' R 165' at 710 South MAin <br />Street provided the- following c and it ions are. fully c ompl ied -with:`- <br />The written c cnsent of ad jace�t property owers is to be obtained <br />and filed with this depArtment before any operat ions Ara begun. <br />The Buils ing is to be erected by March 16,1920, and from that date <br />oc c up ied f or re 11g sous and rev is 1 purpos es only t o A not later date than June ` 1,1920 <br />at which time it shall be wrecked and removed, otserving the ordinances in so doing. <br />The street adjacent is 6t no time to be occupied for purposes of <br />storage of material or debris, or obstructed by �ork of construction or parts of the <br />build ing. <br />Construction and occupancy a �e to be under the supervision of <br />the Building C ommiss ioner and Chief of the Fire Eepartment, and All work subject to thier <br />approval. <br />W. D. TEEPLE, <br />Building Commissioner. <br />Renewal certificate for the renewal of Twenty five thousand Dollar <br />bond of the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company flop. Bend, Indiana. <br />u e nt lemen: - <br />Oposs ite the entrance to Howard Park tre <br />what would be 521 East Jefferson <br />Boulevard or lot 1Ei9 Cottra llts Frdt Add it ion arge bill board was removed on the <br />27;�h. of Bebruary, And immediately arrangements made for the construction of a bill <br />board to .replace the one removed. <br />In section 944 of the South Bend Building Code, re lat ing to sign boards or <br />bill boards located close to Parks, it is specifically stated that no sign board nor <br />.bill board shall be erected nor maintained within 200 feet of any public park. <br />The bill board that was torn dawn had been allowed to remain for some time <br />without objection being filed by this -B_oard as il, was in quite a dilapidated c and it ion, <br />but now, that the CompAny owning and maintaining same have seen fit to remove it and are <br />about to' replAce it with a new structure, the Board feels that they should remonstrate and <br />ask your Honorable Board to prohibit the construction of Anew bill board at this point. <br />Very truly yours, <br />BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS. <br />BY CARL V.
