Petitioner resides at the property and would be the <br /> primary caregiver to these members.The petitioner holds certification to foster, has had the property <br /> approved and inspected by State officials,and has taken all the required training. Part of this <br /> qualification included a background check. There isn't nor has there ever been a criminal <br /> history/background on the petitioner.This would be a one family unit which is consistent with the <br /> intended use of the property.There will be no hired staff at the home. During petitioner absence for <br /> work, school,or whatever may come up, another adult family member(related by blood or marriage) <br /> residing in the home,which has also met the State of Indiana's requirements to be a foster respite <br /> provider, will assume responsibility. <br /> Petitioner ask the Board Members to agree that approval of the request for Special Use <br /> Exception to allow for the aforementioned would not be injurious to the public health, safety, comfort, <br /> community moral standards,general welfare or adversely affect the use of the adjacent property values. <br /> Given that this petition proposes to maintain a family environment,this is very much consistent with the <br /> character of the district and is consistent with proper use of the property/land for which it is zoned. This <br /> residential setting would be compatible with the recommendations of the City of South Bend <br /> Comprehensive Plan in that it allows for housing choice to individuals, and the requested use of the <br /> property does not significantly increase traffic or noise in the residential area.The property would not <br /> require any alterations outside that would take away from the characteristics of the neighborhood. <br /> Petitioner would like it stated for record that she is gainfully employed as a Registered Nurse. <br /> Petitioner has a willingness and desire to support the foster care program and does not need such a <br />
