RESOLUTION NO. 872 RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION PETITIONING THE PORTAGE TOWNSHIP ASSESSOR FOR A REASSESSMENT OF PROPERTY IN THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL ALLOCATION AREA WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission (Commission) has passed Resolution No. 737 on the 10th day of May, 1985, declaring the South Bend Central Development Area to be the South Bend Central Allocation Area (South Bend Allocation Area No. 1A) for purposes of allocating and distributing certain property taxes on taxable real property in the allocation area pursuant to I.C. 36- 7- 14- 39(b) ; and WHEREAS, the assessment date immediately preceding the effective dates of the allocation provision of Resolution No. 737 were: March March March March March March March March 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1980 1983 1981 1981 1985 1985 1985 1985 for Parcel One for Parcel Two for Parcel Three for Parcel Four for Parcel Five for Parcel Six for Parcel Seven for Parcel Eight WHEREAS, the State Board of Tax Commissioners has adopted rules for the implementation of I.C. 36- 7- 14 -39(b) which provide, among other things, that the effective date of the allocation provision is determined by the date on which the declaratory resolution is adopted as opposed to the date on which it is confirmed; and WHEREAS, the assessment date for Parcel Three is thereby changed to March 1, 1980; and WHEREAS, I.C. 36- 7- 14 -39(e) provides that each assessor shall, upon petition of the Redevelopment Commission, reassess the taxable property situated upon or in or added to the allocation area, effective on the next assessment date after the petition. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission, as follows: Section 1. The Commission hereby petitions the Portage it Township Assessor to reassess the taxable real property situated upon or in or added to the South Bend Central Allocation Area (South Bend Allocation Area No. 1A), effective on the next assessment date after this petition. Section 2. A copy of this resolution shall be sent to the Portage Township Assessor as the petition for such reassessment. Adopted at the Regular Meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission held on February 24, 1989, in the Office of the Commission, 1200 County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601.
