.~. <br />.~ <br />.. <br />`'~µ <br />_„ ~.. <br />Joint Committee Meeting of the <br />Health and Public Safety Committee <br />& the Personnel and Finance <br />Committee <br />2007 South Bend Common Council <br />The December 10, 2007 joint committee meeting of the Health and Public Safety <br />Committee and the Personnel and Finance Committee of the South Bend <br />Common Council was called to order by Chairperson, Council Member Karen L. <br />White and Chairperson Charlotte D. Pfeifer at 3:56 p.m. in the Council Informal <br />Meeting Room. <br />Persons in attendance included Council Members Dieter, Puzzello, Varner, <br />Rouse, Kirsits, Pfeifer, Rouse, White and Kelly; City Clerk John Voorde, Police <br />Chief Thomas Fautz, Jamie Loo of the South Bend Tribune and Kathleen <br />Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. <br />Council Member White noted that the Committee Members of the Health and <br />Public Safety Committee include Council Members Puzzello, Kelly, Dieter and <br />herself; and that Pamela Brunette and Deborah Fleming serve as Citizen <br />Members. <br />Council Member Pfeifer noted that the Personnel and Finance Committee <br />Members include Council Members Varner, Kuspa, Kirsits, and herself as <br />Chairperson; and that the Citizen Member of the Committee is Diana Hess. <br />Bill No. 71-07: Proposed Ordinance to Amend the South Bend Municipal <br />Code by amending Chapter 4, Article IV, Section 4-30 addressing Hotels <br />and Motels: <br />Council Member White noted that a special joint committee meeting was held <br />earlier on Bill No. 71-07 where it was discussed in detail. It appeared that there <br />was a consensus that the Bill should be continued for further discussion to <br />January 14, 2008. <br />Council Member White noted that an editorial appeared in the South Bend <br />Tribune yesterday which also addressed the proposed ordinance. She <br />suggested that any additional concerns be sent to Council Member Pfeifer, the <br />Office of the City Clerk or herself prior to January 14, 2008. <br />
