RESOLUTION NO. 880 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION CONCERNING "AFFECTED NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS WHEREAS, I.C. 36 -7 -14 -17.5 has been added as a new section to the Indiana Code regulating the redevelopment of blighted areas; and WHEREAS, Subsection 17.5(a) thereof requires that the Commission conduct a public hearing prior to amending a resolution or plan for a redevelopment area or economic development area; and WHEREAS, Subsection 17.5(e) provides that, under certain circumstances, the Commission must notify "affected neighborhood associations" prior to the public hearing; and; WHEREAS, Subsection 17.5(h) provides that t' require that neighborhood associations register and that a neighborhood association encompass a geographical area included in or proposed to be redevelopment area or economic development area as an "affected neighborhood association." he Commission may with the Commission, part of the included in a in order to qualify NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the South Bend Redevelopment JW Commission that, in order to qualify as an "affected neighborhood association," a neighborhood association must encompass a part of the geographical area included in or proposed to be included in a redevelopment area or economic development area, and that such association must register, in writing, with the Commission in order to receive notice of public hearings concerning the amendment of a resolution or plan for a redevelopment area. L9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that written registration must be received no later than two weeks prior to the publication date of notice of public hearing to be held on amending a resolution or plan for a redevelopment area in order to receive notice of that hearing.
