Personnel and Finance Committee December 10, 2007 Meeting Minutes Page 2 In response to questions from Dr. Varner, Mayor Luecke stated that the Sports Commission brings events to the community. Greg Ayers has been replaced by Gary Wheat. Bill Carleton noted that all pro shops are included and that the repairs are for the Elbel irrigation system. Council Member Pfeifer stated that Mr. Murphy's handout was excellent. Mr. Murphy then introduced all of his assistants. Council Member Pfeifer noted that Council Member Kirsits was now present and that a quorum of the Committee was now present. Council Member Kirsits made a motion, seconded by Dr. Varner that Substitute Bill No. 78-07 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. Bill No. 84-07: Establishing Fund No. 651 Sewage Works Revenue Bonds of 20076 Council Member Pfeifer called for a presentation on Bill No. 84-07 which would create a new fund addressing the sewage works revenue bonds. Interim City Controller John Murphy made the presentation. He noted that Ordinance No. 9767-07 was passed by the Council earlier this year. The State Board of Accounts recommends that a separate fund be established. The Council Attorney noted that she had discussions with Chief Assistant City Attorney Aladean DeRose as to whether this ordinance should be codified into the South Bend Municipal Code. It was decided that since the fund is of a short-term nature, that it would not be necessary. Council Member Kirsits made a motion, seconded by Dr. Varner that Bill No. 84-07 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
