"The fest will also attract visitors from around the <br /> region to South Bend." <br /> South Bend 2012 Blues &Ribs Fest raises fiends for the city's special needs awareness <br /> campaign. Ticket prices are $20 in advance and $24 on the day of the event. Tickets are <br /> available for purchase at the following locations: Morris Performing Arts Center box <br /> office,Hammes Bookstore at Eddy Street Commons,O'Brien Center,321 E. Walter <br /> Street, Super Sounds Catalogue Center in Goshen and Coveleski Regional Stadium ticket <br /> office or online at www.MorrisCenter.org. <br /> "This is such an exciting time for the City of South Bend. There will be a variety of <br /> barbeque ribs vendors from around the region, as well as a variety of traditional and non- <br /> traditional food vendors," said Bradley. <br /> This year's headline act is Jimmie Vaughan & the Tilt-A-Whirl Band, featuring Lou Ann <br /> Barton. For more than four decades, Vaughan, a guitar player from Dallas, Texas earned <br /> his living rockin' the blues. Vaughan's passion for the blues and rock 'n' roll goes back <br /> to his early childhood.While home from school recuperating from a broken collarbone, <br /> he began to play the guitar. Later, he began playing around Texas with a series of bands, <br /> most notably the Chessmen,who opened once for Jimi Hendrix. In 1974, Vaughan <br /> played with vocalist and harmonica player Kim Wilson and formed the group,Fabulous <br /> Thunderbirds. In 1979,the band released their debut album and a fan base grew from <br /> there.
