BILL NO. 18-63 QQ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 9155 `� U <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA,TO ACCEPT A RECOVERABLE GRANT FROM THE INDIANA HOUSING <br /> AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, LEAD HAZARD REDUCTION <br /> DEMONSTRATION GRANT AND HEALTHY HOMES SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING <br /> WHEREAS,the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana(the "Common <br /> Council"), is the governing body of the City of South Bend (the "City"), a municipal corporation <br /> duly organized and existing in the State of Indiana; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City,through its Department of Community Investment, applied for and <br /> has received a recoverable grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development <br /> Authority (the "IHCDA") Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant and Healthy Homes <br /> Supplemental Funding, in the amount of Five Hundred Twenty-Eight Thousand Nine Hundred <br /> Fifty-One Dollars ($528,951) (the "Grant"); and <br /> WHEREAS,the IHCDA requires the Common Council to retroactively approve the <br /> City's application, formally accept the grant award, and appoint designees that are authorized to <br /> act on behalf of the City with regard to the Grant, all by a resolution of a majority of its <br /> members. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of <br /> South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br /> SECTION I. The City is hereby retroactively authorized to apply for a recoverable grant <br /> from the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant and Healthy Homes Supplemental <br /> Funding, administered by IHCDA. <br /> SECTION II. The City is hereby authorized to accept the Grant awarded to it by the <br /> Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant and Healthy Homes Supplemental Funding, <br /> administered by IHCDA, in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the Award <br /> Agreement between IHCDA and the City, a copy of which is attached hereto as Attachment A, <br /> and has been executed by the City through its Board of Public Works (the "Board"). <br /> SECTION III. All further applications, documents, covenants, binding real estate deeds, <br /> instruments or writings as are necessary and/or as appropriate to consummate the recoverable <br /> grant transaction, as acceptable to IHCDA shall be performed by the Board or individual so <br /> authorized to act by and on behalf of the City. <br /> SECTION IV.
