BILL NO. 18-62 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 59 <br /> -1 B <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA, TO ACCEPT A RECOVERABLE GRANT FROM THE INDIANA HOUSING <br /> AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br /> BLOCK GRANT—DISASTER RELIEF II <br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana(the "Common <br /> Council"), is the governing body of the City of South Bend(the "City"), a municipal corporation <br /> duly organized and existing in the State of Indiana; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City,through its Department of Community Investment, applied for and <br /> has received a recoverable grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development <br /> Authority (the"IHCDA") Community Development Block Grant Program—Disaster Relief II, <br /> in the amount of One Hundred Forty-Three Thousand Nine Hundred Six Dollars ($143,906) (the <br /> "Grant"); and <br /> WHEREAS,the IHCDA requires the Common Council to retroactively approve the <br /> City's application, formally accept the grant award, and appoint designees that are authorized to <br /> act on behalf of the City with regard to the Grant, all by a resolution of a majority of its <br /> members. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of <br /> South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br /> SECTION I. The City is hereby retroactively authorized to apply for a recoverable grant <br /> from the Community Development Block Grant—Disaster Relief II, administered by IHCDA. <br /> SECTION II. The City is hereby authorized to accept the Grant awarded to it by the <br /> Community Development Block Grant—Disaster Relief II, administered by IHCDA, in <br /> accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the Award Agreement between IHCDA and <br /> the City, a copy of which is attached hereto as Attachment A, and has been executed by the City <br /> through its Board of Public Works ("the Board"). <br /> SECTION III. All further applications, documents, covenants,binding real estate deeds, <br /> instruments or writings as are necessary and/or as appropriate to consummate the recoverable <br /> grant transaction, as acceptable to IHCDA shall be performed by the Board or individual so <br /> authorized to act by and on behalf of the City. <br /> SECTION IV.
