Haves <br />absent. <br />G y <br />.,Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for Asphaltic <br />concrete pavement on -California Avenue from Portage Avenue to Blaine Avenue <br />under .Improvement _Rajeolution No. 666. , In the City of -South Bend, Indiana. <br />In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />remonstrance was filed. the Board therefore .find that the property assessed in <br />said roll filed November 12th. ,1.919 is benef ittted in the amount of assessments <br />as shwn on said assessment refill and the Board further find that the assessment <br />roll filed November 12th.,1919 and 'the final estimate allowed November 12th. <br />1919 should be and then same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and <br />approved. <br />Guarantee bond in the sum of One ThousRdd Three hundred and <br />ninety eight Dollars ($1098.00) signed by,Williston Construction Company by <br />E. A. Coates, Vice Pros and as .principal and London & Lencashire ;Inde.mnity Company <br />of America as surety signed by C. W. Ginz, Attorney in fact for the five: year <br />guarantee on pavement on.California Avenue Prom Portage Avenue to Blaine Avenue <br />under Improvement Resolution No. 666. was approved by�the Board. <br />The following communication received, read and placed on file. <br />November 25,1919. <br />The Board of Public Works, <br />South Band, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen: - <br />With further reference to the c and it ion of the brick pavement on our <br />North side car line and with particular reference to your letter under date of <br />October 14th., notifying the White Construction 'Company that this p vement should <br />be given their immediate attention, <br />I am informed by our Roadmaster that ;then White Construction Company <br />has not taken any steps to remedy the defects it this pavement. <br />In order that your Board may- have an idea of the c and it ion in which <br />this new pavement is at the present time I am enclosing herewith the results of an <br />inspection made by our track department which ahown the places in need of repairs, <br />We feel that this is a very serious titter inasmuch as this pavement <br />will , cost us, all told, over -$100.000 and we trust that your Board will insist <br />on the White Construction Company making the necessary and proper repairs so as <br />to put the pavement in the condition called for by tht contract and specifications, <br />May I suggest that the Board look t pavement over carefully <br />on their next trip of inspection so that you ma�Jis <br />see what its actual condition is. <br />Ths.nking you for your attention in t.4e matter, I am <br />very truly, <br />R.
