Talboom Deputy <br /> <br /> <br />REPORT FROM THE SUB-COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br /> <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: The sub-committee has inspected <br />the minutes of the January 9, 2012 Meeting of the Council and found them to be correct. <br /> <br />Therefore, we recommend the same be approved. <br /> <br /> s/Derek D. Dieter <br /> s/David Varner <br /> <br />Councilmember Scott made a motion that the minutes of the January 9, 2011 Meeting of <br />the Council be accepted and placed on file. Councilmember White seconded the motion <br />which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes <br /> <br /> <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Council President Dieter read into the record the following: <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL RULES OF PROCEDURE GOVERNING ORDER AND DECORUM <br />AT COMMON COUNCIL MEETINGS <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1.Beginning with the January 23, 2012, regular Common Council meeting, the <br />South Bend Police Officer assigned to be present at such Council meetings will <br />carry out the duties as the Council’s Sergeant-at-Arms [per SBMC § 2-7.1] This <br />Police Officer shall initially perform such duties at a location adjacent to where <br />the Chief Deputy City Clerk sits, and at other locations as reasonably deemed <br />necessary to carry out such duties. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Beginning with the January 23, 2012, regular Common Council meeting, no one <br />will be permitted to approach the Council Members by going past the wooden <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
