Area Board of Zoning Appeals—January 4, 2012
maintain the residential buffer-yard landscaping. So that's the one variance we would like to see not
approved is the one for the residential buffer yard.
MR. CRUMLISH: How big in square footage is this covered patio?
MR. MYERS: Well we're 25' x 40' so it's, but it's not rectangular so it's 750 to 800 square feet.
MR. CRUMLISH: Okay, so then if had walls and we called it a room that's a 1000 square feet would add
another 10 cars to the requirement for parking.
MR. MYERS: If you put that many tables, yes.
MR. CRUMLISH: Theoretically. So in my mind there's potential for a requirement for 30 cars or 32, give
or take, and you want 17 which is give or take half.
IN FAVOR
There was no one present to speak in favor of this petition.
REMONSTRANCE
MR. URBANSKI: We do have a letter from First Source Bank, I am writing to you to voice First Source
Bank's objection to the zoning variances being sought for the property referenced above. Consistent with
our previous objections opposing other parking variances in the immediate area, we object to the zoning
variances being sought for this property. The reason being they're and other businesses in the area will bear
the burden of the overflow parking if the variance is approved. In which the First Source Bank is across the
street.
MR. MICHAEL J. SHEWCHUK JR. I'm a property owner on Terrace, 54533, and I'd like to submit this
petition against this proposal.
MR. SHEWCHUK PASSED OUT A PETITION TO THE BOARD AT THIS TIME
MR. SHEWCHUK: Our position is, we feel that this would not add anything to our neighborhood in fact it
may be a situation that we would not be happy to have it in there. Being with all the people we took the
petition with seem to agree with me that they'd be uncomfortable with that and I don't think that there's
anymore to be said about it for all the people that's signed that petition. I thank you for your time.
MS. PAM KOLLAR: I reside at 54474 Terrace Lane. I've lived in my house for 33 years and oppose the
petition for the Alibaba Cafd for a billiard hall due to the noise, the parking issues and the disturbance it will
bring to our quiet neighborhood. I am not liking the idea of the late hours especially with the residential area
right there and I would ask you to please vote no for this petition. Thank you.
25
