The Redevelopment Authority
December 21, 2011 Meeting Minutes
Ms. Pfotenhauer asked if there are any provisions attached for the owners to
maintain the properties at a certain level. Mr. Sikora said there is nothing in the
sales agreement. Mr. Michael knows one of the homes he is purchasing is going to
need some work. We feel we have an understanding with him but nothing is
written into the contract. The other gentleman has agreed to keep the house for at
least two years. Ms. Pfotenhauer asked if provisions are usually made when we
sell homes. Mr. Sikora said he didn't know. Ms. Greene asked if we were
donating them to the people. Mr. Sikora said they are being sold for less than the
appraised value. They have been appraised and offered, without success through
the disposition process. Ms. Pfotenhauer said we should consider putting
conditions in the agreements that would require people to maintain a certain
standard so that neighborhoods would be able to redevelop. Mr. Thomas said he
knows Mr. Michel will do a good job but we cannot be certain about others who
may want to purchase the homes. Mr. Sikora said Mr. Gordon has screened
potential purchasers and weeded out those who would not be an asset. Ms.
Pfotenhauer thought it is in the City's best interest to have it in writing a standard
the City expects a homeowner to maintain when they purchase one of our
properties. Mr. Sikora said there are nine more properties that will be sold so he
will work with the legal department to draft provisions for those sales. Ms.
Pfotenhauer said she would like to have that communicated as a serious
recommendation to the staff.
Upon a motion by Ms. Pfotenhauer, seconded by Mr. Thomas, the Authority
approved Resolution No. 175 authorizing the transfer real property to the
Redevelopment Commission.
4. NEXT MEETING DATE: January 16, 2012
5. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Redevelopment Authority the meeting
was adjourned at 1:40 p.m.
er— :resident
Carte olyn Pfotenhauer, - resident Donald Inks, Director
co,.;
2
