All members were present. <br /> The meeting was called for the purpose of appoin�ing six new men to <br /> the Police Department. These men having passed a physical examination by <br /> the City Doctor and the Doctor appointed by the Pension Fund Trustees are <br /> to report for duty P�Iond�y, September 10, 1945 and are to become regular <br /> officers of the City of South Bend effective as of the day of their reporting <br /> for duty, provided that they shall successfully pass a period of nine months <br /> probation as special officers of said City. Salaries are directed to be <br /> paid to these men in accordance with the regular schedule of the monthly <br /> pay of officers on a probationary basis. The six men appointed are V'Jilliam <br /> E. Nelson, Norman Esary, P�Zanual Sadural, Ra,mond D. t�2axson, Louis �rJ;lliam <br /> Ka�fman and Paul TsicCarroll.
