<br />WHEREAS,. The Board of Public .Works :a9 the l7th.., day of June
<br />1919 did adopt a res olut ion ordering and ro-q uir ing permament, Improvement -of
<br />nava3rre Street from Portage Avenue to Leland Ave ue by paving the rosdway of the
<br />same; and
<br />HERgAS, the C ity C iv 11 gib 06 has preparod , and i' filed in the
<br />office of .this Boa rd. a.. rdport showing the number and location o#' "the services pipes,
<br />ms lns, conduits, laterals, and o cnnect ions which are, or will be mocesszs ' to
<br />accommodate the ibutt �ig property and the 'owners therreof with. gad, water , .sewer,
<br />and othex�,conv�aieaces and necessaries; and also said City Civil Engineer bar
<br />prepared and f filed : i said office spec if iat ions showing "the material to be used
<br />and the manner of laying said service pipes, mains, conduits , laterals and '
<br />connections"from the mains to the point inside the curb lines.
<br />TMMFCRE, Be it resod ed :by the Board of Public' Works of, the
<br />City of South Bend, find Cana, " that the repor of the City `Civil Engineer -is adopted
<br />and said report and'',the speef ie iat ions prep red and filed by .him are made t part
<br />of this. "resolution, as fully and effectuall as if copied herein at full length
<br />anal it is further ordered that all of such priviate conAectiOns with the iewer,
<br />gas abd water mains be made id said street by bringing them .inside `the curb lines
<br />thereof.
<br />And be it further resolved -that notice by publication for two
<br />successiv days in the South Bend Daily Tri' une, a news paper of general cirouls-
<br />t ten print fined and published in the City of South Bend, lnd Tana be given to the
<br />owners of the propert y abutting upon said street to be improved directing them to
<br />make such sewer and water connections on or before the day of 1919
<br />and that if said connections are not made on or before said time and in accordance
<br />with the spec if icat ions and report on file in . the off is of the Board of Public
<br />Works, then said Board will cause the same tobe made and will 898686kthe cost
<br />thereof against the property abutting upon aid street, and shall do all other
<br />things pertaining thereto %ccordding to the provisions and requirements of Ordinance
<br />No. 1842 adopted by the -COmM0n Council of the City of South Bend on July 2491916,
<br />and of all other ordinances and laws relating thereto:-
<br />And, be it further re olved and ordered that after the 20
<br />day period has. elapsed for the making of said connections by the property oaoners,.
<br />a notice shall be published for two weeks, once- each week, in the South Beni Daily
<br />Tr ihume a newspape►srof , general c ire ulat ion pub 1 is hed In said City, request ng
<br />bide `from contractdrs for the making of --suc h conne6tions as have. not been Made by
<br />the property Miners, and such notice shall fix a day, _ not eats ier than tan dam
<br />after the first of' such publ icat ions, when bids shall be opened and a e mtract let
<br />for the do Igg of said work.
<br />And be it further ord red that the -Northern `Indiana Gas Ee
<br />Electric Company, which holds a franchise r on, and is. e6ipewerad by said !C ity.
<br />t o furnish art if seal gas, to the c it isms t ereof, , and is engaged in said business
<br />in said City, is hereby directed to m¢ke d install all service connect ions with
<br />its rains, in said street in .accordance wi h the provisions of Ordihance No. 1555
<br />adopted June 2791910, and such other ordin cob. or learnt applicable thereto; -which
<br />connections are show upon the report of t e City_ C iv il, Engineer1 and which are
<br />hereby declared to be necessary in supply gas to the owners of property ob utting
<br />upon said street.
