Dieter, Chairperson <br />Community & Economic Development Committee <br />South Bend Common Council <br />4th Floor, County City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />RE: Commercial Real Property Tax Abatement Petition for: <br />KEY SB, LLC (The Hinman Company) <br />Dear Council Member Dieter: <br />Please find attached the Department of Community & Economic Development's report on a <br />commercial real property tax abatement petition for the above-referenced petitioner for renovation <br />of a facility located at 202 S. Michigan Street. Also attached is a copy of the petition, Statement of <br />Benefits form, and supporting information. <br />The report contains the Department's findings relative to the above petition. The petitioner, Key SB, <br />LLC (The Hinman Company) proposes to renovate portions of the Key Tower Building in order to <br />accommodate a new tenant, Bakers & Daniels. The total cost of the renovation work is estimated to <br />be $5,951,680. Please Note: The application includes a request for a waiver for part of the <br />renovation work that has already received two building permits. All of the work authorized <br />under one of those permits has been completed.
