KAREEMAH FOWLER <br /> CITY CLERK,SOUTH BEND,IN <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,INDIANA, <br /> SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE COMMON COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR <br /> CALENDAR YEAR 2019 <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The South Bend Common Council is required to fix the annual compensation of elected city officers. <br /> Indiana Code §36-4-7-2 authorizes the legislative body to carry out these responsibilities. <br /> This ordinance proposes a two percent(2%)maximum increase for calendar year 2019 for the nine- <br /> member Common Council. <br /> Now,Therefore it be ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: <br /> Section 1. The maximum salaries for the members of the South Bend Common Council for the 2019 <br /> calendar year shall be established as follows,which reflects a maximum 2% increase over the 2018 <br /> maximum rate: <br /> 2018 2019 <br /> $19,411 19,799 <br /> Section II.
