Talboom Deputy <br /> <br />ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT FOR 2012 <br />Councilmember Scott nominated Councilmember Derek Dieter for the office of <br />President. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion. The motion carried by a voice <br />vote of eight (8) ayes and one (1) nay (Councilmember Henry Davis, Jr.) <br /> <br />ELECTION OF COUNCIL VICE-PRESIDENT FOR 2012 <br />Councilmember Dieter nominated Councilmember Oliver Davis for the office of Vice- <br />President. Councilmember White seconded the motion. The motion carried by a voice <br />vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br />ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON – COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE FOR 2012 <br />Councilmember Dieter nominated Councilmember White for the Office of Chairperson, <br />Committee of the Whole. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion. The <br />motion carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br />REAPPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL ATTORNEY FOR 2012 <br />Councilmember Dieter made a motion to retain Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand as <br />Council Attorney for 2012. Councilmember Fred Ferlic seconded the motion. The <br />motion carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis asked the Rules Committee to take under advisement if the <br />necessity arises to have another legal opinion, what procedures need to gone through and <br />who would be responsible for the cost. <br /> <br />Councilmember Henry Davis asked if the need arises the Council has monies budgeted <br />for a legal research assistant. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
