REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 12, 2011 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Section II The Council wishes Rev. Rouse, and his wife, Hazel, only the best in <br />the years to come and hope that they will continue to be positive voices in the future <br />throughout our community. <br /> <br />Section III . Davis, 1801 Nash Street, South Bend, Indiana, made the <br />presentation for this Resolution by first offering his comments and reading the Resolution <br />in its entirety and presenting it to Council Member Rouse. <br /> <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br /> <br />There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this Resolution. <br /> <br />Councilmember’s White, Kirsits, Varner, Puzzello, LaFountain, Henry Davis, and Dieter <br />thanked Councilmember Rouse for his dedication and commitment to the City. They <br />wished him and his wife Hazel all the best in the future. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rouse thanked the Council for this Resolution. He stated that he is just <br />shifting gears. He stated that he won’t be on the Council, but rest assured that he will be <br />in communication. He stated that there is much to do in this great city. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dieter made a motion to adopt this Resolution by acclamation. <br />Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried. <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4139-11 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON <br /> COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, PUBLICLY <br />COMMENDING TOM LAFOUNTAIN <br />FOR HIS FOUR (4) YEARS OF <br />RD <br />DEDICATED SERVICE AS THE 3 <br />DISTRICT COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> <br />Whereas, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes <br />that it has had many attorneys serve on the Council over the years, but never one like <br />Tom LaFountain who spoke infrequently during public meetings, but when he did, the <br />room listened; and <br /> <br />Whereas, perhaps it was his demeanor as a professor at Bethel College which <br />brought to him the keen ability to effectively chair the Personnel and Finance Committee <br />for many years; and <br /> <br /> 7 <br /> <br />
