REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 12, 2011 BILL NO. 84-11 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, TO CREATE THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND CERTIFIED TECHNOLOGY PARK FUND (#439) This bill had first reading. Councilmember Varner made a motion to refer this bill to the Personnel and Finance Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on January 9, 2012. Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. BILL NO. 85-11 FIRST READING ON A BILL TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY: SEVERAL ALLEYS, PORTIONS OF ALLEYS AND PORTIONS OF DUEY STREET, BURNS STREET, GEORGIANA STREET AND ST. VINCENT STREET This bill had first reading. Councilmember Varner made a motion to refer this bill to the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on January 9, 2012. Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. UNFINISHED BUSINESS There was no unfinished business to come before the Council at this time. NEW BUSINESS There was no new business to come before the Council at this time. PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR COMMENTS FROM OCCUPY SOUTH BEND MEMBERS thth Corissa Taylor, 910 E. 4 Street, Mishawaka, Indiana; Melissa Stokely, 910 E. 4 Street, Mishawaka, Indiana; Jeff Swartz, 611 ½ Dayton, South Bend, Indiana; John Goodson, 500 Lincolnway West, Mishawaka, Indiana, extended their sincere thanks to the City of South Bend for allowing their extended presence for Occupy South Bend at the Morris. She stated that she understands that many don’t understand or agree with their message, st but they again thanked the City for respecting their 1 amendment rights. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Council, President Derek D.
