INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br />Information Technologies Department <br />227 W Jefferson Blvd (574) 245-6000 <br />TO: Board of Public Works, Linda Martin <br />CC: Dan O'Connor; Santiago Garces <br />FROM: Brian Donoghue, Director of Civic Innovation <br />SUBJECT: Proclamation of Funds for the St. Joseph County Public Library for <br />devices Designated for Charles Black Center Digital Access Sites (CLICK SB) <br />DATE: 08/31/18 <br />Linda and Members of the Board, <br />Please see attached proclamation for the purchase of devices for the Charles <br />Black Center. Charles Black will host the second center for learning, information, <br />connectivity, and knowledge (CLICK SB). CLICK SB will provide high-speed <br />Internet, quality devices, and digital programming to residents in South Bend. <br />This effort is a facet of a broader City initiative aimed towards addressing the <br />digital divide in South Bend, working towards digital inclusion. Due to their core <br />competency servicing all residents with devices and training, the St. Joseph <br />County Public Library is a partner in the above initiative. The Office of Innovation <br />and Technology team has reviewed the proclamation and has a favorable <br />recommendation as well. <br />They not to exceed cost of $25,000 is for a one-time donation for the purchase of <br />12 computers, 1 photocopier/scanner/fax machine/printer, computer <br />administration and support, Microsoft Office Suite, and Deep Freeze Cloud. <br />Thank you, <br />Brian Donoghue <br />
