RESOLUTION NO. 2993 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT <br />COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF <br />PETITIONS TO RELEASE ACCRUED TAX <br />AND REMOVE PROPERTY FROM TAX ROLLS <br />WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission (the "Commission "), is the <br />governing body of the City of South Bend Department of Redevelopment (the "Department ") <br />within the meaning of I.C. 36 -7 -14 (the "Act "); and <br />WHEREAS, the County of St. Joseph offered several properties for sale at its tax sale <br />conducted in 2010 (the "Sale "); and <br />WHEREAS, the Department was the successful bidder on the following five properties <br />in the Sale: <br />018- 8004 - 022701 <br />018- 8027 -1090 <br />018- 8027 -1097 <br />018- 3059 -2331 <br />018- 3059 -2333 <br />1325 S. Main <br />1520 S. Taylor <br />505 W. Indiana <br />1117 -1119 S. Ford <br />Vacant Lot on Ford <br />all located within the City of South Bend (the "Properties "); and <br />WHEREAS, the Department acquired the tax sale certificates for the Properties during <br />October and November, 2010, however, the Commissioner's Deeds were not recorded until <br />April, 2011, following the completion of the statutory process set forth in IC 6- 1.1 -24; and <br />WHEREAS, each of the Properties have accrued taxes and penalties assessed which may <br />be released upon the filing of a Petition to Release Accrued Tax and Remove Property front Tax <br />Rolls (the "Petition "); and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission desires to file a Petition with respect to each of the <br />Properties; and <br />WHEREAS, Don E. Inks is an appropriate person to be designated as the Commission's <br />authorized representative to sign and file a Petition for each of the Properties. <br />-1- <br />
