<br />resolution ordered fbr ssewer on Melkus Court.

<br />Gentlemen: -
<br />Complaint has reached this department with reference to an outside toilet
<br />on Melkus Court and we have been advised by the owner of the property that there is
<br />no sewer available.. I understand that there are two or three other houses that are
<br />not connected with the sewer.
<br />As I recall our arrnagement last year you would make possible sewer
<br />.connection by laying in sewer where no sewer is available in cas a the Board of health
<br />make recommendation. This we do in this connection and trust4 tht you will take
<br />steps to immediately remedy the condition and because it is in a zone that should
<br />have been connected last year and we havealready had complaints by adjacent property
<br />owners,

<br />The following resolutions were adopted by the Board.
<br />STREET OR ALLEY III.PROVEMEN RESOLUTION NO. 11�1.
<br />Be it Resolved by the Beard of Public Works of th City of South Bend,
<br />St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, that itis desired and deemed necessary to
<br />improve Main Street from Washington Avenue to Jefferson Street as follows, topwit:-
<br />To improve South Main Street from the south line of the Street railway
<br />tracks on Washington Avenue to the south line of Jefferson Street, By resurfacing
<br />the roadway from curb line to curb line, also by resurfacing certain portions of the
<br />streets and alleys which enter or intersect said Malin Street.
<br />The material to be used for resurfacing and paving shall be sheet
<br />asphalt, bitulithic, asphaltic concrete or brick and the foundation shall be present
<br />portland cement concrete foundat&on. Cement curb shall be constructed on both sides
<br />of solid street where same is necessary and not already constructed, storm water inlets
<br />and conduits shall be constructed where necessary; all manhole tops and storm water In-
<br />lets shall be set to the proper grade; marginal curb shall be constructed at all street
<br />:end alley intersections where necessary, all as is more particularly shown and all in
<br />accordance with the plans, , profiles, detail drawings and specifications on file in the
<br />uO.irice or the Department of Public Works of theCity of South Bend, Indiana.
