• Receiving the James Farrell Award for excellence at the Belleville Softball complex. This prestigious award has been earned every single year the the Complex has been open. • Creation and implementation of a Graffiti Abatement Program for the City of South Bend. • Being selected as a Beta-site for the Healthy Communities Research and Surveillance Project in partnership with Indiana University. • Designing and launching a new community-wide music festival in support of the concept of the development of a future Miracle Park for the region's special needs population. • Launching a new website, online registration and customer satisfaction tracking options. • Becoming a leading partner in the creation of the county-wide health coalition including the local schools, hospitals, universities and not-for- profits to address local needs and issues. • Teaming with the Crossings, a youth-development program, for internships with the Department. • As part of the City of South Bend, earned the All American City Award this year. • As part of the City of South Bend, and in partnership with many other community organizations, earning a Bronze level Bicycle Friendly City designation from the American League of Cyclists. • Creation of the not-for-profit South Bend Park Foundation to support and promote the benefits of the agency in the community. • Working with the city administration to create and launch the Healthy City initiative, a program to monitor, educate,track and improve the health of all city employees.
