CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />Above the floor channels there shall be an aluminum moisture shield.050 inches <br />thick. The entire -underside of the modular shall be sealed with a waterproof <br />sealant. All hollow structural shapes or cavities shall be sealed utilizing an <br />approved expandable foam. <br />The rear patient access shall be equipped with an exterior aluminum threshold <br />mount to the lower doorjamb. This threshold will protect the bottom doorjamb, <br />in addition the rear patient floor shall have a fourteen gauge stainless steel cot <br />protector. <br />EXTERIOR STORAGE ACCOMMODATIONS <br />The exterior compartments shall be constructed of .090 aluminum and shall be <br />formed by a computer controlled brake and shear to decrease the amount of <br />welding to fully enclose the compartment. The compartment therefore, shall be <br />water tight. The compartment shall be welded in place to the side and floor <br />structure with an additional bracket welded to a bracket connecting the exterior <br />wall two with the floor structure. The floor of the exterior compartments shall be <br />at least two inches below the lower door frame lip to help prevent equipment from <br />falling out should a door not be closed. The compartment floor shall be supported <br />from beneath with one by two by. 125 6061 T-6 rectangular tubing welded to the <br />underside and the floor structure. All exterior compartments shall be vented above <br />the floor line with machine stamp louvers. The exterior compartment shall be <br />lockable with one key fitting all doors. The compartments shall be equipped with <br />handle and door locks. Each exterior compartment shall be provided with a sealed <br />light to be illuminated upon the door opening. The light shall be activated by a <br />mechanical switch. A door open indicator light shall be visible on the driver's <br />console. The compartment configuration shall be as described. <br />PATIENT COMPARTMENT SOUND LEVEL <br />Shall meet the requirements of paragraph 3.13.8 of Federal Specification KKK-A- <br />1822-F. <br />INTERIOR CABINETS -Duralite Construction, Wood, CN10 compliant <br />INTERIOR SURFACES <br />All vertical edges of cabinets shall be of an aluminum extrusion with a 1/4inch <br />radius designed to free the interior of the patient's compartment of all sharp edges <br />or projections. The face and inside of the cabinets shall be covered by a <br />commercial grade laminate, adhered to the cabinet face by a high quality poly <br />vinyl adhesive using a thermal press application. The wood, adhesive and <br />laminate shall be pressed together at 200 degrees for four minutes in a thermal <br />10083-0016 08/27/18 <br />
