Tuesday Augast 22nd.11922. Continued- 373�� - Resolutgon for Service Connections with -Mains �. WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works on the .2IId v ...... day of ... ... Augu>f . l 192 did alopt a resolution ordering and requiring the permanent improvement of ...T.ear Street from .... G9 Z VBr1; • • ..Street to.. Street, by paving the roadway the same, and WHEREAS, the City Civil Engineer has prepared and filed in the office of this Board a report showing the number and location of the service pipes, mains, conduits, laterals, and connections which are, or will be necessary to acconrmccate the abutting property and the owners thereof with gas. water, sewer, and other conveniences and necefsaries: and alto said City Givil Engineer has. prepared and filed in said office specifications showing the matey al to be used and the maner of laying said service pipes mains, coaduits, laterals and connections from the mains to the points in- side the curb lines. THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Wcrkes of the City of South Bend, -Indiana, that the report of the City Civil Engineer is adcptcd, and sad retcrt and the specif1cftiers prepared and filed by him are made a part of this resolution as fully and effectually as if copied herein at full length; and' it is fur-` Cher by ordered that bringing them all of such private inside the nub lines connections with the sewer, thereof. gas, and water mains be made in satik-11ftett - r- And be it further resolved that notice by piAcadon fc;r two sucorssive days in South Bend News TiMe$ arld TrJAW r of general circulation printed and publ shed in the City,;of South Bend Indiana, be given to the owners of the property abutting upon said street to be improved directing ahem to make such sewer and water connections on or before the I r,t 1 day of ` > MUst3er 1922 192 =, and that if said connections are not made on or before said tirre and in accordance with the speci- fications and report on file in the office of the Board of the Public Works, then said Board will case the same to be made and ' will asses the cost thereof against the property abutting abuFtttti�ng upcnn said street, and shall do all other things pertaining 'thereto according to the provisionsaendedr n`Vft r+&`�f14R94eP29,'ddVWd 1 o.y- by the Common Council of the City of South Bend on Jrlyy 24, 1916, aLd cf elAPTA cyl ese`'ai8 law relating thereto. And. be it further resolved • and ordered that after the 20 day period has elapsed for tl a"making cf said connection by the property owners, a notice shall be published for two weeks, once each week, in the South Bend Tl'bilAe & News TiL11C9� a newspaper of general circulation publ'shd in said city. regjestir-g bids from contraetors for the making of such connections as have not been made by the property owners. and such notice shall fix a day, not earlier than ten days after the first of such publications, when bids sham be opened and a contract let for the doing of said work. And be it further ordered that the Northern Indiana Gas and Electric Ccapar-y, which holds a fran. chise from, and is eniow,rel by said city to furnish artificial gas to the citizens thereof, and is engaged in said b.rsiness it sail city, is here')y directed to mike and install all service connections with its mains in said Street in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1555 adopted June 27 1910 and such other ordi- aanees or laws applicable thereto; which ecnnecticns ire -hewn rpcn the repot cf Ile City Civil Engineer, ,and which are hereby declared to be necessary in supplying gas to the owner of- property abutting upcn faid street.
