The Board, upon motion �seconded and regular- <br /> ly carried, confir�ed this appointment in accordance with the �Ilayor' s <br /> request. <br /> The Board, upon regular motion, seconded and carried, transfer- <br /> red Carl Shaffer from the Electrical Dep�rtment signal station to <br /> the Police Department of the City of South Bend, to serve as a first <br /> cl�ss patrolman, waiving probationery period, due to �JIr. Shafferf s <br /> elevenyears� experience of police duty in the radio department, taith <br /> the understanding that he be assigned �'o-r special duty from Nov. 15 <br /> to Dec. lst at the signal station upon orders from the Po2ice Depart- <br /> nent, tnen to be re-assigned by the Chief of Police for such regular <br /> duties as th e �hief may deem expedient. <br /> POLICE DEP�Ttv`li.���' - Chief Lane present= <br /> A cor,lmunication �vas received from Traffic E'ngineer I�Ziller with <br /> reference to the petition for designating East ti�ayne Street from Eady <br /> to Greenla�vn as a boulevard, tvhieh was ordered placed on file. <br /> A corununication was received from Traffic Ehgineer Miller with <br /> reference to over-time parking on the 140f2 block on Portage Avenue. <br /> The Clerk oP the Board �vas ordered to comznunicate with Mr. Gadomski, <br /> owner of the apartment house at 122� Portage-xvenue, requesting that <br /> he notify his tenants not to occupy the pzrking sgaces more than three <br /> hours at a time in accordance with the ordinance. <br /> 4tiEIGH'�'S A��tD 1�qE��URES <br /> Ilr.
