RESOLUTION NO. 3665-06 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />PUBLICLY COMMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CATHOLIC SCHOOL <br />GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2006 ICCL CHAMPIONSHIP <br />G~/~1~~aa, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is proud to recognize that <br />Corpus Christi Catholic School is located at 2817 Corpus Christi Drive in South Bend and provides <br />educational opportunities for students from pre-kindergarten to 8`h grade which recognizes self-discipline, <br />personal responsibility and the dignity of all persons; and <br />~1~~, the Council notes that Corpus Christi Catholic School has a diverse coed population of <br />438 students with ethnic backgrounds including Asian Pacific Islander, Hispanic, African American and <br />Caucasian; is associated with the National Catholic Educational Association; has astudent/teacher ratio of <br />25 to 1; and offers sports programs for 5th through Stn grade boys in football, soccer, basketball, baseball <br />and wrestling and for Stn through 8th grade girls in soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, track and <br />cheerleading; and <br />~/zni.~aa, the Common Council would especially like to publicly recognize coaches Bob <br />Schaeper, Carl Bals, Emma Falcon and Larry Falcon, and the following named student-athletes on the <br />Corpus Christi 7m_8cn Grade Girls Softball Team and all of the individuals associated with the <br />"Corpus Christi Cougars" who won the 20061nter-City Catholic League (ICCL) Championship who <br />had a team record of 10-1, and beat St. Anthony 3-2, in the ICCL Championship game: <br />Ann Marie Lindzy <br />Annie Bednarek <br />Jenny Bals <br />Tiffany Schindler <br />Kate O'Brien <br />Theresa Kinney <br />Delia Falcon <br />Jessica Ferro <br />Katie McNamera <br />Emma Gerhold <br />Gretchen Cyr <br />Jenny Mayor <br />Finda Kamanda <br />VYo~, C~/~~ex~e, lie i,~xeaQGu-eQ; by the Common Council of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common <br />Council hereby congratulates each and every member on the CORPUS CHRISTI 7TH & 8T" GRADE <br />GIRLS SOFTBALL .TEAM along with their Principal, Susan Lapeer, their Athletic Director, Louis <br />Berthold, and their Pastor Rev. Camillo Tirabassi for winning the 2006 INTER-CITY LEAGUE (ICCL) <br />CHAMPIONSHIP. <br />Section II. The South Bend Common Council believes that the hard-work, discipline, and <br />dedication of each of the student-athletes on the CORPUS CHRISTI COUGARS 7T" & 8T" GRADE <br />GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM has enabled each of these girls to be an excellent role model with each softball <br />team member bringing the highest of honors to herself, her family and friends, the Corpus Christi <br />Catholic School, the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, and all of the residents of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Section III . The Common Council wishes the CORPUS CHRISTI COUGARS 7TH & 8T" GRADE <br />GIItLS SOFTBALL TEAM the very best in the years ahead, both in the classroom and on the softball <br />field as each of them pursue the highest of all scores in academics and athletics. <br />shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the <br />(1-Ll ~~t° <br />T ~~~~~~Ge.e.G~~t ~zG~, ,2006. <br />Stephen J.
