The coinmittee was <br /> informed that the State Highv�ray �ommission control parKing .on Sta+e High- <br /> tivays, and were advised to obtain permission from that Cormnission and <br /> that the Board of Public Safety would caogerate. <br /> The r�atter of ec�uzppin� alI city-ovin,ed truc�ss with directional sig- <br /> nals and flares was brought up and the Board instructed the 61erk to <br /> take the matter up with the State officials to ascertain_ if the city-o•✓�m- <br /> ed vehicles �Tere not exempt, and also to ascertain if State riig hway ve- <br /> hicles are required to carry the same signals. <br /> FIRE DEPAFcTiJIEIVT - Chief Freeh present: <br /> The Chief brought up the question of parking on LaSaILe Court and <br /> offered �the' suggestion that parking shot�ld be I.imited to one side only <br /> as this is a narroUv street and by parking. on both sides. a direc� fire <br /> hazard was created. The matter was referred to the City Traffic Engin- <br /> eer, Ern est Miller, for investigation and report. <br /> The Chief reauested the privile�e of purchasing an �ir grease gun <br /> f�r lubricating fire equinment. kuthority for this purchase x�as given <br /> to the Chief. <br /> He also stated that the eguipment at 1VO. 5 Tire Station needed a <br /> new battery, the purchase o� which tvas authoTized. <br /> ELECTRICAL DEPAR'IT�IENT - Mr. �,ualls present: <br /> l�Ir. �,ualls submitted a report of the cost of replacin� o`Ter-head <br /> traffic signals and substitutin� a four-:corner post type af the three- <br /> lens pattern.
