Meyer & Son, Inc. 13.18 <br /> FIRE DEPART1bqENT - Chief Freeh nresent: <br /> The Chief requested the cooperation of the Police Department <br /> in roping off streets at large fires in the downtotivn district to <br /> keep the public from interfer�ing with the v.�ork of the department. <br /> Police Chief Lane was ealled in to conference and it ti^Jas mutually <br /> agreed that this should be done. <br /> ELECTRI CAI� DEPARTMENT - R�Ir. �u all s p re s ent: <br /> I�4atters pertaining to the operation of the Electrical Department <br /> were discussed v�Jith T�Ir. �ualls. <br /> POLICE DEPARTIvIII�1T - Chief Lane present: <br /> The Chief sub�itted report of the activities of the Police <br /> Department in its various branches for the month of October, copy <br /> of which is on file in the office of the Board of Public Safety and a <br /> copy furnished e�ch memb�er of the Board. <br /> The Veterans League presented a Resolution adopted by the <br /> meeting of Post No. 3 in Riv�r Park, a�ing that the traffic light <br /> at Mishawaka Avenue and 30th Street be,�r�moved. Resolution was <br /> signed by eight representative business men in that vicinity. Due <br /> to the fact that the Board has not been requested to remove this <br /> signal, no action was taken and the Resolution was filed in the <br /> ofFiee of the Board of Public Safety. <br /> A communication was received from the Internatianal Union of <br /> United Automobile Workers of America, signed by A. A. Green, SecretarSr, <br /> requesting that proper consideration be given Officer Arthur Campbell <br /> fbr advan.cenient to a higher ranking off ice in the Police Force. Due <br /> to the fact that there are no vacancies on the Force at the present <br /> time, communication �vas ordered placed on file. <br /> Communieation was received from the Mayor requesting that ail <br /> City awned cars check in at the Water Vdorks Garage each evening not <br /> later than 6:00 P. M. and check out not earlier than 7:00 A. M. and <br /> remain in the garage Sundays and holidays, and was ordered placed <br /> on file, due to the fact that all departments in the Board of V`r'orks <br /> and Safety have been so notified. <br /> Mrs. Frank V'Jhitehall requested that a traffic signal be placed <br /> at �ddy and Madison Streets, which was referred to Traffic Ehgineer <br /> Ernest Miller for investigation and recommendation. <br /> Application for position on the Police Department was received <br /> from ti"�illiam A. Mitchell and ordered placed on file. <br />
