All members were present. <br /> Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> Requisitians in the Police Department numbers 908 to 920 and <br /> in the Fire Department numbers 03878 to 03884, inelusive, were <br /> approved. Zillmer - Controller <br /> Mrs. Fred Woodward - Deputy Controller <br /> FIRE DEPAR.TMIlVT - Chief Freeh present: <br /> The Chief was given permission to purchase chairs for the <br /> dormitory in Fire Station No. 2, also to purchase two vapor nozzles <br /> for fighting smoke fires. <br /> The matter of use of' the basement in Fire Station No. 2 for a <br /> police riPle range was discussed with the Chief and it was decided <br /> to allow the Police Department the use of this space for this purpose. <br /> ELECTRICAZ DEPARTMFNT - Mr. Qu�zlls present: <br /> Matters pertaining to the operation of the Electric�l Department <br /> were discussed with Mr. Qualls. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMIlVT - Chief Lane present: <br /> The Chief reported that -the request f'or a police officer to be <br /> stationed at Broadway and PQain Streets between 5:00 and 5:30 each <br /> evening while Studebaker Factories are running would be complied <br /> with and necessary instructions have been given. <br /> Continuation certificate covering �surety bond in favor of <br /> Sergeant Claude E. Keller was approved by the Board. <br /> Mr. Francis J. Bock submitted his monthly report of the South <br /> Bend-P,1lishawaka Police Radio Station for the month of October, � copy <br /> of this report was furnished each member of the Board. <br /> WEIGHTS 8c MEASURES D�ARTME'�iT - Mr. Burns present: <br /> Tdr. Burns submitted his report of the operations of his depart- <br /> ment for the week ending October 20th, showing 181 inspections made. <br /> This report is on file in the office of the Board of Public Safety. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 10:00 A.
