147 � <br /> MEETING October 25�, 1937 <br /> Regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on <br /> Monday, October 2�, 1937, at 9:00 A. �JI. Mr. Woodward was absent. <br /> rdinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> Requisitions in the Police Department numbers 898 to 907, <br /> inclusive, were a proved. Claims, from the following suppliers, <br /> in the amount oF �174.59 were approved and ordered paid, also <br /> payroll in the various departments for the last half o� October <br /> amounting to �19, 222.66. <br /> Al Dunlap, Publisher �p2.00 E`pworth Hospital �23.00 <br /> St. Joseph's Hospital 4.00 Mine Safety Appliance Co. 3.10 <br /> Schilling*s 24.00 Auto-Ordnance Corp. 24.71 <br /> Ind. Paint & W. P. Co. 59.25 Bsrman's Sport Goods Store 5.50 <br /> Ohio Chem. & Mfg. Co. 29.03 <br /> �'.LECTRICAL DEPARTME[�T - Mr. �,ualls present: <br /> Mr. �ualls reparted th� activities of his department during <br /> the past v�reek. <br /> POLIC� D�PARTMENT - Chief Lane present: <br /> The Chief discussed with the Board matters pertaining to the <br /> operation of the Police Department. <br /> The Board authorized the purchase of a pair of trousers for <br /> motorcycle officer poyal Rhymer, as his tvere ruined in a recent <br /> accident. <br /> Traffic Engineer Ernest +�iller reported on a request made, by <br /> William E. Rassmussen f'or traffic control at Broadway and It�ain <br /> Streets. Details of investigation are on file in the office of <br /> the Board of Public Safety, and Mr. rJtiller recommended that a <br /> police officer be stationed at this intersection evenings from <br /> S:OO to 5: 30 olclock. The Board ordered that the Chief be requested � <br /> to follow this recommendation and P�ir. Rassmussen be sent a copy of <br /> Mr. Miller's report. <br /> W'EIGHTS & N�ASURES D�PAR'I'MIIQT - 112r. Burns present: <br /> l��r. Burns submitted his report of the operations of the <br /> Weights & Measures Department for the week ending October 23rd, <br /> sho�ving 251 inspections made.
