Mr. Anderson and Mr. Woodward <br /> were absent. Ransberger & Son 19.65 City Water Works 17.03 <br /> The Office Engineers; Inc. 2.00 City Water V�'orks 505.87 <br /> The Office Eagin�ers, Inc. .94 <br /> ELECTRICAL DEPARTNlIlJT" - Prlr: Qualls pres�nt: <br /> Matters pertaining to the operation � of the Electrical Department <br /> were discussed with Mr: Qua11s. <br /> FIRE DEPARTMFNT� - Chief Freeh absent: <br /> Application for position as fireman was submitted by William <br /> Henry Heiermann and ordered placed on file. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMIIJT - Assistant Chief Diedrich present: <br /> The Assistant Chief� discussed with the Board various phases of <br /> - the operation of the Police Department during the past wesk. <br /> A petition was received, � signed by twelve residents in the <br /> affeeted area, asking that �the Board re-establish the right of <br /> parking on the west side of Cushing Street: As this matter was <br /> referred to TrafPic Engineer Miller several weeks ago and his recom- <br /> mendation concurred in that parkin� on the west side of Cushing Street <br /> from the filling station south �for 100 ft. be established as no parking, <br /> the Board instructed that the petitioners be -so informed. <br /> Mr. G. R. MacGregor; - manager of the National Mill Supply Company, <br /> requested that a loading zone- be es�ablished in front of their place <br /> of business on Monroe� Strest-and on Carroll� Street. This matter was <br /> referred to Traffic Ehgineer �Miiler, whose report is on file in which <br /> he did not recommend establishing these loading zones. The Board <br /> ordered that a copy of his report be sent to �the National Mill Supply <br /> Company asking their cooperation with the report. <br /> Communication was received from Traffic Ehgineer Ernest H. �1liller <br /> recommending that the traffic signals at Ewing Avenue and Miami Street <br /> and at Madison and �Eddy�Streets be eliminated; and his reason for this <br /> is included in the report�now on file in the office of the Board of <br /> Public Safety. The Board� gave instructions to �notify ��r. �ualls to <br /> remove these signals at the same time that stop signs are placed. <br /> WEIGATS & NIEASURES DEPARTM�NT: <br /> Mr. Burns submitted his report of the operation of his department <br /> far the week endin� October 16th, showing 269 inspections made.
