Qualls �resent: <br /> r�iatters pertaining to the operation of the Electrical Department <br /> were discussed with It�r. �ualls. <br /> Communic�tion was received from a conmittee o� employees of the <br /> Electrical Department, requesting the Board to si{�n a Resolution <br /> requiring the employees to wear a uniform of their own selection on <br /> which shall be displayed the proper insignia ot' the department and <br /> changing the name of the department to the Signal Service Department. <br /> After f�.ill consideration of this r�atter, the Board decided that there <br /> would be no objection to the employees of the Electrical Departnent <br /> purchasing and wearin� uniforms at their own expense if they desire <br /> to do so, but that there would be no change in the style of the <br /> dep�rt?nent. Members oP the committee were so notified. <br /> A communication was submitted by hir. �,ualls from T. J. Slovrie, <br /> Secretary of the rederal Communications Commission, in whieh was <br /> stated that upon inspection of Police Radio Station WPGN it was found <br /> that no satisfaetory provision was arranged for checking frequency. <br /> Mr. Qualls reported that he had had a quotation from the R. C.A. <br /> Manufacturing Company of �570.15 for the necessary equipment. No <br /> definite action could be taken at this time. The natter tivas referred <br /> to the r,�ayor and City Attorney. <br /> POLICE DEPARTI4�ITT �- Assistant Chief Diedrich present: <br /> Vacancies on the Police Depart�ent caused by the death of Arden <br /> 'r�line and Clyde Wilson were filled by the Board in the appointment of <br /> V��illiar� C. Cholasinski and Leonard Krule��Jitch to begin service at' once, <br /> the latter having been appointed tne previous v�eek but no definite <br /> date of employment given. These officers are appointed sub�ect to <br /> assignment by the Chief of Police and to be on probation for six months, <br /> also subject to ph3�sical egamination by the Police Surgeon and Pension <br /> Physician. <br /> Applications for position on the Police Departr�ent v��ere received <br /> from Niilo r. Cool �nd John Suto. <br /> Question of status of Officer Casimir Luczny, who was reouested <br /> • to resign was discussed and it was decided by the Board that he shall <br /> not be re-ins-tated i�ntil a �vritten report of his physical condition <br /> shall be t'urnished by the Police Physician. <br />
