Thurn 2.25 SineZeir Refining Co. 6.60 <br /> FIRE DEPARTi'1IE�TT - Chief Freeh present: <br /> The Chief reported having��made a trip to Columbus, Ohio to <br /> inspect the new Seagrave Pumper and stt��ed that it would be delivered <br /> to the City of South Bend within the next wesk. <br /> ELECTRICAL D�.PARTIvIENT - Mr. Qu�lls present: <br /> Matters pertaining to the operation of the Electrical Department <br /> were discussed with Mr. �,ualls. It was decided to ask <br /> It was aecided to ask the Indiana 8cIt2ichigan Electric Company to <br /> render their monthly claim� for -electric current in tv�ro vouchers - " <br /> one to cover the lighting af the City and the other to cover the <br /> traffic li.ght system, CommunicAtion was c�irected to the Indiana & <br /> Michigan Electric Company accordin�ly. <br /> Mr. Qualls, having been requested by the Clerk of the Board to <br /> secure the police badge bein� worn by Carl Shaffer, stated that <br /> Mr. Shaffer ref�zsed to give up the badge. The Board directed thet <br /> PJlr. Shaffer appesr before the Board at its next meeting to discuss <br /> this rnatter. <br /> POLICE DIl'ARTNt.IlVT - Chief Lane �present: <br /> Matters pertaining to the operation af the Police De�artment <br /> were discussed v�rith the Chief, particularly�the situation with <br /> reference to labor difficulties at . the various factories in the City. <br /> Application Por position on-the Police Department was presented <br /> by Harry Francis Carey and ordered placed an file. <br /> Traffie Engineer Miller repor-ted in reference to the parking <br /> situation. on George Avenue north oF Sample Street and recommended <br /> certain restrictions, copy of v,�hich is on file in -the office of the <br /> Board of Publie Safety. The Board concurred in this and instructions <br /> were given to carry out the plan. <br /> Mr. VJ. g. Hutchinson aga�n appeared before the Board regarding <br /> establishment of a one car taxi stznd, and after discussing the <br /> matter with him the Board decided to hold this up for one week until <br /> full membsrship of the Board is present. <br /> � _�" Surety bs�nd� in:.favor: of Richard.�.
