Sales 3. 96 <br /> FIRE DEPARTP�IFNT - Chief Freeh pre�ent: <br /> The Chief reported that Firem�n Steve Gorka, after having been <br /> tre�ted in the hospital for several months and was released, was again <br /> returned for further diagnosis and treatment: Further report regarding <br /> his condition will be made later. <br /> The Chief reported that on March 19th Fireman Albert Kraszewski . <br /> was struck by a moving automobile at the intersection of Brookfield� ` � <br /> Street and Lincoln Vvay ltiest. L�e to the fact that this acciaent <br /> occurred on the fireman's day aff: the Chief was instructed to <br /> in�estigate circuristances further. � <br /> FLECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - Mr. C�ualls present: <br /> Matters pertaining to the aperation of the Electrical Department <br /> were discu�s��. v�r�h�t.�/Ir. �,ualls. <br /> � rr: - <br /> �.� <br /> POLICE DEPAFiT1t2ENT - Chief Lane present: <br /> Officer Miller made a report regarding cor�nunication received <br /> from C. H. Shupe vrho appealed to the Board for construction of <br /> pedestrian tunnels on the main corners of the downtown section. <br /> Officer Nliller's very comprehensive repo�rt is on file in the office of <br /> the Board of Public Safety. <br /> In view of the fact that Officer Iviiller recommends the investi- <br /> g�tion of the advisability of eliminating right turns in the downtown <br /> district during rush hours, fihe Board reouested the Chief to make a <br /> careful survey and report. � <br /> The Board approved clai� of a special nurse �hose services v��ere <br /> used in connection with the armbulance �ccident in whieh Officer Luczny <br /> v�as seriously hurt and instructed the Chief to h�ve the nurse render <br /> her cl.aim at once. <br /> The Board discussed special police commission of Alfred Johnson <br /> who has been the night watchman for the F. S. Fish and Studebaker <br /> estates and waived the necessity of supplying the Board with a surety <br /> bond if his employers tivould flzrnish the City with a letter indemnifying <br /> the�. against any improper action by I�ir. Johnson. <br /> Communication was received from Officer T�iiller recomrnending that <br /> the signs in front of the Oliver Theatre be changed to read "No Parkin� <br /> In Front Of Theatre", which will permit�� parking from the north <br /> line of the Theatre to the alley. - � � <br /> R'EIGHTS & NIEASURES DEPl�RTI�ENT - irTr.
