Offieer Jablonski re-instated in the Fire <br /> Department as of December 9th. <br /> Applications for position as fire�an of Melvin S. Ferguson, <br /> colored, and l�rthur E. �'Jalter ��rere presented to the Board and ordered <br /> placed on file. , <br /> ELECTRTCIiL DEPAR�i�i�NT - I��r. �;ualls present: <br /> Matters pertaining to the operation of the Electrical Department <br /> v:ere discussed �+iith l�lr. �,ualls. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT - Chief Lane present: <br /> The exanination for re-instater.ient to the Police Department of <br /> John I. Northrup ti��as submitted by Dr. Pauszek and it was found that he <br /> did not pass the examindtion for reasons given on his application. <br /> Representatives of the National Safety Council, in the persons <br /> of Paul Hofflnan, H. E. Bolt, John Gibbons and Conrad Ad�sns , were present <br /> to consult with the Board regarding the installation of traffic signals <br /> at Cushing, J'ohnson, Wilber and Olive Streets. After thoroughly <br /> discussing the matter, the Board agreed to investigate the possibility <br /> of obtaining sufficient funds for the installation of these lights. <br /> The Chief brought up the sub jec�L of netiv cars for next year and, <br /> after a discussion of the mat�er, the Board a�ain instructed the Chief <br /> to bring in his recomr.iendations as to the kind of equipment best fitted <br /> for the department for tne Board�s final approval. <br /> Officer Ernest i.�iller presented his report of the condition of the <br /> parking regulation in the 200 b1ocY ZVest Jefferson Stree� and recommended <br /> that fifteen minute regulations be not established at 225 ti'lest J'efferson <br /> Street. The Board concurred in this report and instructed the Secretary <br /> to notify I�,-ir. Powers of its action. <br /> The Chief submitted report of the Police Radio activi�ies for the <br /> montn of Nover�'per, ti��hich re�oort is on file in the office of the Board <br /> of Public Safety. <br />
