Burns subinitted his report of inspections for the past c�eek <br /> shovring 282 inspections made. <br /> t�:Ir. Burns also reported that he had on several occasions been <br /> requested to make inspections and test electrical meters, but that no <br /> equipment is o�ned by the City for doing this work. The Board in- <br /> structed him to refer all such inspections to the Indiana & T.Tichigan <br /> Electric Company, as no funds are provided to purchase equipment to <br /> do the v�ork by the City. <br /> FIRE DEPARTI�IENT - Chief Freeh present: <br /> T�,iatters pertaining to the operation of the Fire Departrnent vaere <br /> discussed �Tith the Chief. <br /> � The Chief stated that the boilers at the Central Station are <br /> practically out of commission and it is vrith difficulty that they are <br /> securing heat. The Board instructed him to keep the boilers in best <br /> repair �possible until after the final disposition of the 1937 budget. <br /> ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - iti•Tr. Qualls present: <br /> I�Zatters pertaining to the operation of the Electrical Department <br /> were discussed �rith r�jr. �ualls. <br /> T��Ir. �ualls submitted a report of Francis J. Bock, Chief Radio <br /> Operator, of his attendance at the ��lational Convention of Associated <br /> Police Communication Officers held at Davenport , Io�ra, October 5th, <br /> 6th and 7th. This report is on file in the office of the Board of <br /> Public Safety. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMEPdT - Assistant Chief Diedrieh present: <br /> I;Iatters pertaining to the operation of the Police i�epartment <br /> �vere discussed ��ith the Chief. <br /> A communication from I�rIadge �iJood�vard Romine , coMplimenting the � <br /> Police Detiartment and the Street Department f or nrompt and efficient <br /> ser�rice rendered, ��ras presented to the Board and ordered placed on <br /> file . after the Police Department and Street Department vaere furnished <br /> a copy. <br /> ::-1r. John Buzolich of the City Dairy Company �vas present and <br /> discussed ��ith the Board the accident reported by Officers ivils <br /> Hansen and Louis i�ish under date of October 3rd at the intersection <br /> of Indiana Avenue and Carroll Street, at which time Car No. 13 tivas <br /> put out of cor�rnission. The complete file in this matter vaas ordered <br /> turned over to the City Attorney f'or his attention. <br /> ��pplication for position on the Police Department ti�ras presented <br /> by Tv:elvin J.
