South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting -December 7, 2007
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearing
(1) continued...
(e) continued...
had with Holladay Corp. about the widening
of the road there. Mr. Inks responded that it
does not. But both are related to the same
potential expense, the widening of Douglas
Road. In this case, there may be some minor
uses related to the widening of Douglas.
Having the money already appropriated
makes it available if we need it. Any such
expenditure would come to the Commission
for approval before being spent. If we
wanted to widen Douglas any time in the
near future, it would have to be financed
because the increment collected could not
pay for it.
Mr. Peczkowsk asked, then, if this was in any
way a response to the difficulty in
negotiations we had with Holladay? Mr.
Inks responded, no; whether we had
concluded those negotiations or not, this
money would still need to be appropriated.
Mr. King noted that the TIF revenue for this
district will grow substantially when the new
Memorial building becomes a part of it. Mr.
Schalliol agreed. The projection was that it
would generate several hundred thousand
dollars.
Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by
Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved Resolution No. 2401,
a Supplemental Appropriation Resolution of
the Redevelopment Commission (Douglas
Road Economic Development Area)
22
COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 2401,
A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION RESOLUTION
OF THE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
(DOUGLAS ROAD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
AREA
