South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting -December 7, 2007
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearing
(1) continued...
(b) continued..
will bring our ideas to the Commission for
review and approval every two weeks. We
are fortunate to have $27M with which to
make some of these decisions. Amore
difficult problem would be to have no
money.
Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by
Mr. King and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved Resolution No. 2398,
a Supplemental Appropriation Resolution of
the South Bend Redevelopment Commission
(Airport Economic Development Area)
noting Mr. King's objection to certain items
in the list of possible projects.
The next resolution being considered is
Resolution No. 2399, West Washington-
Chapin Development Area.
Mr. Schalliol noted that the appropriation for
the West Washington-Chapin Development
Area is for $1,200,000. There is no debt
service for the West Washington-Chapin
area. The Commission does have some
commitments to South Bend Heritage
Foundation to oversee a lot of the
development in this area such as acquisition
of property and the Engman Natatorium
renovation. Staff expects to create a strategy
and project list for the area, including
property acquisition, infrastructure and
redevelopment.
COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 2398,
A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION RESOLUTION
OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION (AIRPORT ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT AREA
PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION NO.2399
17
