Public Hearing <br />(1) continued... <br />Public Hearing Resolution No. 2398 <br />were there when we were speaking about <br />LaSalle Square. <br />Ms. Jones: When asked, we do. I have been <br />to several LaSalle Square Council meetings. <br />Jerry Niezgodski: Also, regarding what <br />Marty said about LaSalle Square. In the <br />committee meetings when the Common <br />Council was talking about adding LaSalle <br />Square into the Airport TIF, it was made very <br />clear by about three or four Council people <br />that they'd let you add these other areas into <br />the TIF as long as LaSalle Square is the first <br />priority. Money should be spent there first <br />and taken care of. I see already we're taking <br />a million dollars for the Western Avenue I & <br />M improvements. Fine. But I' m afraid <br />we're getting at the top of the slope which is <br />going to become very slippery very soon. As <br />I think Mr. Peczkowski and others have <br />mentioned in past meetings, all of a sudden <br />there's this goose with the golden egg and <br />we're going to be using all this money all <br />over the west side. I know the City Council <br />entered into an agreement with AJ Wright for <br />not honoring the agreements of their tax <br />payment. My question is I hope that money <br />they agreed to, which I think is a quarter of a <br />million dollars, is going to meet obligations <br />in that area of what is now the Airport TIF. <br />My concern is that we start taking all this <br />money from the Airport TIF and diverting it <br />elsewhere, without focusing on LaSalle <br />12 <br />
