There being sufficient funds <br /> in the apnropriation, the Board authorized this purchase. <br /> ELECTRICAL DEPARTN�NT - T�r. Qualls present: <br /> Matters pertaining to the operation of the �.lectrical Department <br /> ��ere discussed v�ith hlr. Qualls. <br /> �'1EIGHTS & I��ASURES DEPARTI1+SIIVT - PJlr. Burns present: <br /> NLr. Burns submitted his report for the past week, sho�ing <br /> inspections in the amount of 379 for the week. This report is on <br /> file in the office of the Board oP Public Safety. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT - Chief Zane present: <br /> The Chief reported upon request of the Hinkle T�Totor Company for <br /> fifteen minute parking restrictions to be established in f ront of <br /> their place of business. Officer l�2iller, of the Accident Prevention <br /> Bureau, recominended that this request be granted, and the Board <br /> concurred in it and instructed the Chief to make the necessary <br /> arrangements. <br /> A request received from James S. Steele, 1221 tilood��ard Avenue, <br /> for the establishment of stop signs on Hudson Avenue, making �iJoodward <br /> a through street, was referred to the Accident Prevention Bureau, <br /> who reported that the condition was investigated and the safe approach <br /> speed to the intersection is far belov� that v�arranting stop signs <br /> and, therefore, recor�mended that they be not installed. The Board <br /> concurred in this and �ir. Steele raas notified. <br /> A report was received from the �ecident Prevention Bureau in <br /> reference to condition at T:�ain and l:2arion Streets in response to <br /> petition of fifty-five petitioners that the traffic be controlled <br /> at this intersection. The report recommended that stop si�ns be <br /> installed on both sides of LIain Street on Nlarion Street , making �jain <br /> a through street at this intersection. The Board concurred and Chief <br /> Lane �as instructed to take proper action. <br /> � report ti�as received from the Accident Prevention Bureau <br /> regarding the situation at the intersection of l:Iain Street and Indiana <br /> Avenue. - � Recor�mendation r�as made that this situation be handled by <br /> having an officer from the souad car in that district direct the <br /> traffic at this intersection each evening from 5:00 to 5:15 P. Tti�. , <br /> leaving the stop signs as they are. The Board concurred and the Chief <br /> of PoliCe v�as instructed to carry out this program. <br />
